The Helford River

Manaccan is about 9 miles or 15 km to the old market town of Helston which offers supermarkets and a wide range of shops. Truro is about 50 minutes drive with Falmouth, St. Ives and Penzance about 45 Minutes. The Helford River and the east side of the Lizard peninsula has small sand and shingle beaches whilst the West side, which faces the Atlantic, has bigger sandy beaches often with surf. The north Cornish coast (45 mins) has the widest beaches and surf. The Helford River offers sheltered waters for sailing, fishing or general pottering in boats.
